Integrated DNS-based applications and solutions provider Nominum is in talks with Latin American telecom operators to sell its recently launched digital marketing tool N2, CMO Sanjay Kapoor told BNamericas.
N2 leverages internet activity data from the Domain Name System (DNS), an underutilized resource that is freely available, Kapoor explained.
The N2 suite provides marketing and customer care teams with the opportunity to target subscribers with relevant in-browser messages, based on subscribers’ recent internet activity, all in real time.
Tigo Argentina is among the California-based firm’s LatAm N2 customers, and operators from Brazil, Mexico and Colombia have reportedly shown interest.
Kapoor said: “For this new solution we have one operator in Argentina, Tigo, which is a front runner with regards to that. We’ve been working with them for the past three years.”
Kapoor and CEO Gary Messiana were recently in Brazil to showcase N2.
Kapoor said: “If you look at our history, most of the operators in Latin America already are our clients. In fact, 80% of Latin America’s subscribers and enterprise traffic goes through our DNS server. In Brazil, 90% of operators use our DNS software.”
