Nominum is seeking a Software Engineer to work with a team to develop Nominum’s top selling carrier-grade networking solutions.  Engineering teams are responsible for all aspects of development including design, development, testing, debugging and integration with other products. The candidate must be able to work with other team members to reach consensus on key issues.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of network programming on Linux based OS’s.
• Some knowledge of C or C++ required.
• Knowledge of Python desired (experience with another scripting language such as Perl in lieu of Python is okay if the other requirements are a match).
• 2+ years experience in software design and development of network applications.
• Knowledge of make, svn, and Unix-based software development tools required.
• Knowledge and experience with at least two recent versions of the following operating systems: Redhat Enterprise Linux, Solaris, or FreeBSD required.
• Network and daemon-level software development experience desired.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and/or DHCP protocols strongly desired.
• Clear written and oral communication skills.
• Solid understanding of Operating Systems fundamentals.
