Nominum is seeking an individual contributor to provide product leadership in helping develop the OEM and Embedded line of business. This person will be responsible for effectively identifying and prioritizing product development efforts that yield superior customer relevancy and competitive differentiation. This strategy will be built upon embedding Nominum core DNS and DHCP solution offerings in ecosystem partner technology.
The role demands an ability to think beyond individual products and features and focus on the solution customer.
Skills
Knowledge of Network, standards and protocols (Especially DNS & DHCP)
Effective customer briefings for business leaders, senior IT executives and architects
Ability to synthesize direction based on competitive analysis
Effective at creating customer relevant requirements
Ability to create multi-year financial business cases to justify investments
Effective ability to create results leading virtual teams
General Product Manager Responsibilities:
Coordinating product development with engineering, field teams and other Nominum product managers
Partnering with 3rd Party Application Providers
Understand and analyze user needs around the globe
Research markets and competitors to define competitive differentiation
Work with customers, sales and prospects to develop product requirements
Work with engineers and partners to define clear technical product specifications
Working with sales directors and systems engineers to obtain information to answer engineering questions
Own end to end delivery of product features
Develop and launch new releases of the solution
Working with documentation and marketing teams to create and review the creation of data sheets, printed manuals, and VoD or programmed training materials
Prepare and deliver product overview presentations Sales for product introduction and channel development purposes
Coordinating the usability test studies with our UE testing contractors, field teams and partners.
Define product vision and direction.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field (MS/MBA a strong plus)
2-5 years of strong contribution to customer-driven product management, preferably dealing with enterprise customers while delivering top quality software products and services
Demonstrated capacity for developing and understanding strategy
Outstanding organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong technical abilities
Experience in Operations, Administration, Management and Provisioning
Clear written and oral communication skills
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols with an understanding of DNS
Experience in network security including event correlation solutions, secure web gateways & next generation firewalls
Experience with Technology Partners delivering solutions (both OEM & channel)
Experience delivering products in US, Europe, Asia and Emerging Markets a plus
5+ years-related Product Management and Business Development experience.
