Gary Messiana

Chief Executive Officer

Gary Messiana, Chief Executive Officer, joined Nominum in July 2011.  Gary, a seasoned industry veteran, brings the experience of leading start-ups into high-value growth markets across multiple markets and geographies. Gary also brings an extensive track record of leadership and success in software and hosted service solutions as well as a customer-centric attitude, operational excellence and a wealth of management experience to the company.

Since 2008, Gary has been an entrepreneur-in-residence with Bessemer Venture Partners. At Bessemer, Gary focused on evaluating investment opportunities in the software and infrastructure-as-a-service sectors.

Prior to Bessemer, Gary served as CEO of Netli, a content-and-application delivery network provider serving both the carrier and enterprise markets.  Netli was sold to Akamai (NASDAQ: AKAM) in 2007.  Previously, Gary was CEO at Diligent Software Systems, a strategic sourcing start-up that was sold to B2E Markets.

Gary started his career in appliance sales at MAI Basic Four and Sequent Computer Systems.  He was the Western Regional Director at Inference Software and later at its Brightware spin-off, as well as Vice President of Sales at Bizgenics Software, diCarta Software and Crossworlds Software. He has won numerous Director and Salesperson of the Year awards throughout his early career, which he attributes to a lifelong devotion to customer satisfaction.

Gary holds a BA degree from Binghamton University where he graduated with honors and serves on Nominum’s board of directors.
