Vantio NXR
Vantio NXR Service Delivery Module (Vantio NXR) enables a responsible and provider-controlled Web error redirection service that helps providers generate new revenue streams while enhancing the broadband subscriber Internet experience. The NXR is an optional add-on module to the extensible Vantio Base Server (a carrier-grade next-generation caching DNS server). When a user mistypes a website or domain name and the subsequent DNS query results in an NXDOMAIN answer from the Internet, the NXR module redirects qualified names to the carrier-branded portal. Highly relevant, thoughtfully presented search results on this page help enhance the user Web experience while providing an opportunity for the carrier to monetize clicks for new revenue.
Carrier configurable and customizable domain name filters determine which NXDomain traffic is redirected, ensuring that traffic for non-Web applications is not affected and more importantly that redirection can be tailored to maximize both subscriber satisfaction and monetization. Because Nominum’s Vantio NXR solution is an in-network solution, the carrier retains control over all aspects of the resulting service, page content and format, and subscriber experience.
