Enforcement of subscriber and operator preferences
The Nominum Proxy is a high performance proxy that supports applications like Nominum Personal Internet and Subscriber Safety or other applications like url filtering. Nominum applications allow subscribers to better secure and personalize their Internet experience by specifying web sites they do not want in their home, or to schedule when the Internet is available. Nominum Proxy ensures subscriber and or network operator defined preferences are properly enforced by managing user policy, IP assignments and list content updates from Policy Manager. Nominum Proxy receives updates from the Policy Manager that are synchronized with Nominum Engines to provide the appropriate policy enforcement based on application and subscriber settings.
The Nominum Proxy allows for message notifications. Messages can be presented as an in-browser notification, or as an interstitial page, which may offer a warning or other message and then could allow the end user to click through to their destination. Message pages can be completely customized to meet network operator user interface (usability) and branding requirements.
