In recognition for Nominum’s carrier grade ENUM solution
Redwood City, Calif., May 16, 2005 - Nominum, the leading provider of IP address infrastructure solutions, today announced that it is the recipient of the prestigious Frost & Sullivan Technology Leadership Award, 2005, in recognition for its superior carrier grade ENUM solution. The endorsement was based on findings published in Frost & Sullivan's May 2005 report “ENUM Market Insight Report”.
The criteria for the annual Award include, significance of a company’s technology in the industry, the number of competitors, research and development efforts, value-added technology for customers, adoption rate by participants, new product innovations and time to market.

In a test environment, simulating a telephony service provider VoIP environment with a medium to large subscriber base, the Nominum Foundation Authoritative Name Server (ANS), considerably outperformed competing DNS servers, BIND, DJBDNS, and PowerDNS, across all criteria including, scalability, latency, security and availability.
The tests confirmed that Nominum provides the superior and only viable solution, with no other server capable of loading the 200 million NAPTR records in 10 zones. Even in a scaled down scenario, with a four times smaller dataset, all other servers still failed to load.
