Nominum Joins Juniper Networks J-Partner Program

Aug 2 2005

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., August 2, 2005 - Nominum, a leading provider of IP address infrastructure solutions, today announced it has joined the Juniper Networks J-Partner OSS & Network Management Alliance to deliver joint solutions addressing the growing need for effective IP address management of mission critical networks. The initial solution is the joint development of high-performance network infrastructure with highly available, configurable and scalable DHCP services for broadband internet applications and mobile connectivity.

The combination of the Juniper Networks E-series edge routing platform with the Nominum Foundation Dynamic Configuration Server (DCS) will meet carrier-grade demands for network availability and performance and enable service providers to efficiently and reliably support large numbers of subscribers with differentiated services. The Juniper Networks and Nominum solution brings unparalleled capabilities to DHCP services:

·    High Availability - Nominum’s DCS open-standard failover capabilities align with the Juniper Networks E-series reliability and redundancy to support always-on networks and connectivity. This enables highly resilient networks and network services with redundancy and failover capabilities.

·    Increased Service Availability – Unlike other DHCP servers, Nominum DCS can be configured on the fly without needing to interrupt or restart the server. Nominum DCS increases the uptime of the DHCP infrastructure and helps service providers to achieve 99.999% uptime.

·    Flexibility – Nominum’s DCS allows almost limitless extensibility of its internal business logic for IP address lease allocation. By quickly integrating DHCP with provisioning, billing, and security systems, providers can respond to changing market conditions and offer new competitive service packages.

·    Increased Revenues and Reduced Operational Costs - By offering highly granular IP configuration and QoS levels, Nominum and Juniper together let service providers introduce and manage value-added services to meet market requirements. Additionally, integrating DHCP configuration and management with provisioning systems help minimize the total cost of operations.

“Nominum carrier grade solutions address a critical network service for broadband internet applications,” said Tom Tovar, vice president of business development of Nominum. “Generic DHCP servers lack the capabilities required by carriers and service providers to offer differentiated classes of service and support mobile connectivity. Our joint solution with Juniper Networks provides unparalleled availability, flexibility and scalability to handle the service requirements of millions of client devices.”

“Nominum is a welcome addition to our J-Partner OSS & Network Management Alliance Program,” said Tony Scarfo, vice president of partner management,Juniper Networks. “As our customers are becoming increasingly reliant on their IP asset infrastructures, we’re working with Nominum to deliver interoperable, robust and flexible OSS and network management solutions.

Nominum has joined Juniper’s J-Partner OSS & Network Management Alliance as “Preferred” level and will complete interoperability testing with Juniper Networks products. Nominum worldwide customers include British Telecom, Verio, Samsung Networks, ASAHI Net, COLT Telecoms, NTL, Telewest, 3, and KPN.
