Nominum Announces Japanese Market Entry
Jan 12 2004
Sumisho Electronics Company Signs on as Nominum’s Master Distributor for Japan
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. January 12, 2004 – Nominum, a pioneering provider of IP address infrastructure software, today announced a partnership with Sumisho Electronics Co., Ltd. (SSE), the leading IT solution provider in Japan. SSE will deliver Nominum Foundation™ IP address management solutions to help enterprises and service providers efficiently run their mission critical networks, while reducing operational risk and ensuring business continuity.
Internet service providers, manufacturers, and telecommunication companies throughout Japan are faced with common challenges brought on by the increasing demand for advanced IP-based communications systems. The rapid growth of ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line), a technology enabling the transmission of digital information at high bandwidth on existing phone lines, has created a high demand for IP address management systems as most of today's services require static IP addresses.
To address these challenges, SSE will introduce Nominum’s IP address management solutions to its customers who require carrier-class tools for managing and tracking IP addresses and domain names. By implementing Nominum Foundation IP address management solutions, companies are able to reduce the risk of network downtime and increase the flexibility of the network to support rapid growth and new services.
“We are very excited to establish a partnership with Nominum to help serve our customers in Japan,” said Mr. Dan Mikogami, Operating Officer for SSE. “Nominum’s superior IP address management software products are the most comprehensive solutions to address the needs of our market.”
“Our entry into Japan with SSE demonstrates Nominum’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific region and our continuing focus on providing superior support to Nominum customers,” stated Miguel Nhuch, vice president of sales and channels for Nominum. “Sumisho Electronics Company has the size, expertise and worldwide prestige allowing us to fully capitalize on this opportunity.”
Nominum also announced an agreement with LinuxKorea in South Korea. With both relationships in place, Nominum is able to jumpstart its entry into Asia and leverage the expertise and established customer base of each company.
The Nominum Foundation IP address management solutions include: Nominum Foundation Authoritative Name Server (ANS) Nominum Foundation Caching Name Server (CNS) Nominum Foundation Dynamic Configuration Server (DCS) Nominum Foundation Management Center (FMC) Nominum DNS Response Validator (DRV)
