Feb 10 2000
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Internet Software Consortium (ISC) is pleased to announce the availability of the January 2000 Internet Domain Survey. The January 2000 data is the latest installment of the longest running survey of Internet growth, which has provided counts of host and domain data since 1987. ISC sponsors this activity with operational support from Nominum, Inc. and Network Wizards.
Results from the latest survey are now available from ISC's web at http://www.isc.org/. “The current survey has identified more than seventy-two million hosts,” reports Mark Lottor of Network Wizards.
Summary data is available from the ISC's web site at no charge. The raw data, which may be purchased from ISC, provides researchers and marketing organizations an opportunity to approximate the number of hosts in specific domains. Pricing for the full raw data set is a one-time fee of US $2500.00.
David Conrad, Executive Director of the ISC is enthusiastic about the ISC/Nominum/NW relationship. “Nominum provides the key resources that enable the ISC to not only sponsor the gathering of this important data, but also share the data with the Internet community.”
“Nominum recognizes the unique place the domain survey has in documenting Internet growth and is proud to support the ISC. The information collected by the ISC provides an important resource used throughout industry in planning for the future,” said William Thomas, President and CEO of Nominum, Inc.
