Senior Software Engineer (SIP)
We seek a SIP expert with versatile C/C++ application development
skills to contribute to the development of Nominum's products. If you
are passionate about technology, committed to writing quality
software, and obsessed with performance and scalability, this is a
perfect opportunity.
Our development teams are responsible for all aspects of development
including design, development, testing, debugging and integration with
other products. The candidate should be motivated to be part of a
small aggressive team building a new product from the ground up.
Location: Redwood City, CA
Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of SIP, TCP/IP and Call Routing
- Very solid knowledge of C and/or C++
- Five or more years in development and architecture of complex multi-threaded systems, preferably on Unix/Linux based operating systems
- Experience developing server-side SIP applications
- Experience evaluating and managing stack vendors in the area of next generation voice switching
- Clear understanding of state machine, high availability and scalability concepts
- Experience of call generator test tools and methodologies (sipp, Spectra2 etc)
- Knowledge of make, subversion, and Unix-based software development tools
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the DNS protocol
- Knowledge of VoIP peering concepts, softswitch architecture
- Familiarity with session border controllers
- Understanding of carrier routing and routing table structure
- Practical experience in service creation and knowledge of standards such as JAIN and Parlay
