Senior Software Engineer
We seek a versatile C/C++ programmer to contribute to the development of Nominum's products. If you are passionate about technology, committed to writing quality software, and obsessed with performance and scalability, this is a perfect opportunity.
Our development teams are responsible for all aspects of development including design, development, testing, debugging and integration with other products. The candidate should be able to work with other team
members to reach consensus on key issues.
Location: Redwood City, CA
Requirements:
- Very solid knowledge of C and/or C++
- Knowledge of make, subversion, and Unix-based software development tools
- 5 or more years in development and architecture of real time call processing systems, preferably on Unix/Linus based operating systems
- Expert knowledge of SIP and other peer to peer VOIP protocols such as H.323
- Experience evaluating and managing stack vendors in the area of next generation voice switching
- Experience with multi-vendor interoperability and proven ability to design around these issues
- Experience with design and development of stateful (as in mirrored state) high availability systems that are geographically distributed
Desirable:
- Knowledge of VoIP protocols including MGCP, H.248, BICC, MxUA/SUA/M2PA, SIP-T, Q.1912.5
- Understanding of stats collection and policy enforcement requirements within carrier voice switching
- Knowledge of OSS interfaces such as TL-1, SOAP, PL/SQL and how to integrate into those systems
- Knowledge of legacy voice switching protocols including SS-7 and ISDN
- Understanding of carrier routing and routing table structure
- Practical experience in service creation and knowledge of standards such as JAIN and Parlay
- Knowledge of legacy services and protocols including IN, AIN 0.1, INAP CS1 and CS2, TCAP
